Gravity

What goes up must come down.

The old law of gravity can sometimes be our worst enemy.

Gravity will always take us to the lowest possible point it can, if I was to jump of the roof of my house I may hit obstacles on the way down, like trees, etc, but I wont stop falling until I hit solid ground, ouch!

In life I've noticed that gravity expands beyond the world around us. Our souls have a gravitational pull. The ground we hit will be the lowest points we can go to. The lowest thoughts, moods, emotions, mind sets...And so on...We as humans will always gravitate to something. The power those low points have will make up part of who we are.

If the ground we hit is negative we will always gravitate to the negative no matter how hard we try, even if we have a parachute, we are still going to hit the ground, its not an issue of how but when...

There comes a point in our lives where we all will say I cant be bothered getting up anymore...Because I always end up here anyway, and we begin to accept the ground we hit as normal.

I think the problem is we spend a lot of time trying to get off the ground, trying to escape our lowest points, only to find ourselves on the ground again.

Why not build up the low ground? Why not fill in the holes, level the field and start building yourself a mountain?

What are the real things that you think of yourself when your alone? What do you really think God thinks of you? What are your deepest most darkest thoughts. What are those hidden secrets down the dark no go zones of your soul...These things make up our low ground. We cant just try to escape them, because gravity can be very inconsiderate at times!

Build yourself up...Start with the lowest possible ground. If its there you'll hit it at some stage.

Build a mountain of Gods promises to you through the Bible. Here's one to start with: Ps 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Good Post bro. Man that this is so true. God like the laws of physics is immutable. I would rather gravitate to God though instead of the negative stuff in my life :) This post was definitely a thinker for me...Bless Ya Ryno Dude! -Moose

Hey Ryan! I got the weirdest question for you. Since you are in Australia and in the southern hemisphere. When you flush the toilet does it really go counter-clockwise? Oh yeah, I dind't know if you knew but I'm a youth pastor also!

Ryan said...

Yo P.C
I think our toilets are a little different to yours bro...you see my toilet kind of creates a big wave of water that sort goes all directions.
To tell you the truth I've never really taken any notice!!! My grandma has one of those swirly toilets, next time I go there i will watch which way it swirls, and let you know...ha ha, funny.
I saw your a youth Pastor. Thats awesome. I saw your other blog site. Looks like your doing an incredible job bro! How long you been doing that for??

LOL! WOW...lotsa replies!

Yeah Bro! We are taking over the World! LOL! The Kingdom of God is advancing through our Youth!

Hey PC...Relational Youth Min is where we are at. We do a lot of youth mentoring and one on ones, speaking into our youth's lives and discipling them. Grow them one at a time, as we get more youth, we get more leaders. Big events are cool, they charge up and encourage youth and get them saved, but if it doesn't grow 'em it is all bang and no gravy. It has nothing to do with programs, it has everything to do with "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength andn Love your neighbor as yourselves" We really love the youth of our city we come in contact with and we make sure they know it. Being Really Real. Gotta have a real top down vision and passion pastor on down to see youth grow and impacted into everything God wants for them, so that they can be empowered and released to do the same.

Hey Ryno...Yeah, in Saskatoon there are some pretty hardcore youth. Lots of gang activity here, We officially have the worse gang problem in Canada. I just don't minister to kids in the church I live in the hood and reach out from my home as well, a block of 20th...The native gangs, Indian Posse, Redd Alert etc. are growing every day. We got lots of troubled youth in our city. Programs don't reach them. Knowing that someone cares and loves them unconditionally does.

I would love to hear how you guys are doing youth min as well. Is there any other blogger youth min stuff out there where YP can share ideas etc.? Man a resource of other youth pastors and leaders would be invaluable to see how others do youth min...mabey we should start a Youth Min blog? Post events for prayer, share different ways we do youth min...dunno..ideas?

Anywhoo..went way over here...gotta get a run on to church...

God Bless -Moose

nigel: of all the entries, this tugged at my heartcords the most. For i am now at a great crossroad in my life: i am torn between being for Him and against Him. Why? I think you can call it gravitational insecurity. I have hit too many low-downs that i'm at stage where you call it 'wanting to stay down.' Forces me to think of what im doing. Man. Hate thinking of myself like this.

Ryan said...

Hey Nigel
thanks for coming over to my blog! Im glad you got something out of it!
Sounds as if you are doing some major soul searching right now.
I guess all I can say is God is in the low places as well, He is in the valleys and in the high ground.
The key is that we keep walking, Ps 23:4 "Even though I WALK through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Dont stop walking bro!!!
We can never really get away from who we really are, we spend alot of time trying to run away from ourselves...instead we should just take who we are, with all of our incapabilities, stuff ups and insecurities go to Jesus and sit and know that he still accepts us, loves us, and forgives us no matter what.

I would love to keep chatting with you about stuff, lets keep in touch!
