The Journey

Life is a journey not an event.
Sometimes our error can be to stay at an event too long.
One of the saddest things to see is a person who is still caught in an event in their life that happened 20 years ago. The longer they stay there, the more crippling it becomes. Even if it was the good old days.
For whatever reason I find it very tempting to set up camp where I'm at, accept my lot in life and be comfortable. I think its the security that attracts me to that.
Now don't get me wrong. I am quite happy with who I am. Its just I know that there is so much more than what I'm doing right now. Its the same with you.
No matter where you are at there is so much more to be had!

The key is to walk on. Keep moving. To keep dreaming.

A machine is most likely to seize up when its not in operation. The operator will come to switch on the machine, but it can no longer perform the purpose for which it was created because it sat immobile for too long.

The classic old Psalm says this "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." (Ps 23:4 NIV)
Notice that scripture doesn't say "even though I stop in the valley"

We have to keep walking. No matter how hard it gets...and trust me it will get hard.

Don't get caught in the event. Keep on walking the journey ahead, your the only one who can walk it.

Hey Ryan,

A song kept popping up in my mind and it is "Still" by Hillsongs. The lyrics go something like:

Hide me now
Under your wings
Cover me
within your mighty hand

When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with you above the storm
Father you are king over the flood
I will be still and know you are God

Find rest my soul
In Christ alone
Know his power
In quietness and trust

Majorly awesome song. And two others have been great at this time...

We Declare Your Majesty
and
God Will Make A Way

You know that I am back in Church now? Not the same one but a new one.....

We have major catching up to do when you are here in Singapore........

God bless u bro!

And tinkerbell....what's up with saying Hi alvin here in Ryan's blog?

Hey Alvin
I love those songs hey.
God is awesome.
Man, I am so glad you are back in church. Its all about staying close God hey, anything that robs that from us is not of God.
Yes there is some catching to do for sure.
Your awesome Alvin.

Yo there Ryan!

It is great to be back in Church....man was it some journey away. Funny thing is that throughout that time, I could feel Him tugging at my heartstrings......guess He was not about to let me go. There is this song by Kathy Troccoli entitled "You're Still Here". If you ever get a chance to listen to it, DO SO!

Been back in church for the last 3 Sundays now...I go with my wife to my sister's church. Allows me to get closer to her as well as my precious nieces.

Oh Ryno, there is so much for us to catch up on. Good to have this blog...must start my own soon. And maybe have the shock of seeing "Rodney Waters" leaving a comment!

Hahahahaha!

Alvin
